Piano

Bronwyn began playing the piano at age five, and enjoyed a childhood full of music. She competed in festivals, progressed through RCM examinations, learned to play for jazz band, and improvised for her church choir. By her early teens, Bronwyn had discovered a love that was as important to her as music itself: the love of sharing music with others. Her teaching career began at age fourteen when she joined her mother's home teaching studio in Vancouver, BC.

Bronwyn went on to study piano performance at the University of Victoria, and following her studies, opened a community music school in Victoria, BC. The vision for the school was to create a space where children and adults alike would thrive on a fun and energetic musical education, while developing the skills to further their own creativity, self-confidence, and community awareness. Bronwyn's piano students preformed consistently well in festivals and exams, were given numerous opportunities to play in the community, and participated in many inspirational and educational musical outings.

In February, 2011, Bronwyn and her family moved to Toronto to experience new opportunities. (The school was sold, and continues to thrive.) As the mother of a little cellist, Bronwyn was thrilled to find the Toronto School for Strings, where her daughter now studies with Mary Fisher. Bronwyn is honoured to join the faculty at the TSS. She believes strongly in what Mary and Julian are providing for their students, and shares their vision and their outstanding commitment to quality music education. With her passion for music and her fifteen years of teaching experience, Bronwyn hopes to inspire pianists of all ages and to expand the Toronto School for Piano as an addition to the wonderful community at the Toronto School for Strings.
